We are seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing to lead occupancy growth at Trulee Evanston, a 160 unit senior living community located in Evanston, IL.
This role is ideal for a driven, relationship-focused sales leader who thrives on building referral networks, guiding families through the decision-making process, and delivering results while maintaining a compassionate, resident-centered approach.
About the opportunity
This is a high-impact sales leadership role at Solera's flagship Trulee Evanston community. The Director of Sales & Marketing will manage two sales team members while also carrying a direct sales role, supporting a high-occupancy community with continued growth runway in the Chicago market, including Aurora and Foundry Park. We are seeking a top-performing sales leader with 5+ years of proven senior housing sales experience and a track record of driving occupancy, referrals, and move-ins.
Compensation for this role includes a base salary of $115,000, plus a strong commission/bonus plan with annual earning potential of over 30% based on continued strong performance.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Occupancy Growth
  • Develop and execute a structured sales and marketing strategy to achieve budgeted occupancy
  • Generate and convert qualified inquiries, referrals, tours, and move-ins
  • Utilize Solera sales methodologies to achieve targeted closing ratios
  • Track, analyze, and report sales performance and conversion metrics

Lead Management & Follow-Up
  • Respond promptly to all inquiries and ensure consistent follow-up
  • Maintain accurate lead and activity tracking within the CRM
  • Measure referral source effectiveness and adjust outreach strategies accordingly

Referral Development & Community Outreach
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, physicians, rehab centers, and other referral partners
  • Achieve and maintain weekly outreach and referral contact goals
  • Attend networking events and represent the community professionally in the local market

Tour Readiness & Community Presentation
  • Ensure model, respite, and rent-ready rooms are tour-ready at all times
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs to ensure the community presents at its best
  • Partner with leadership on staging and presentation of model spaces

Marketing & Reporting
  • Complete weekly marketing and occupancy reports
  • Develop Competitive Market Analyses at least twice annually
  • Partner with the Home Office team on advertising, branding, and public relations initiatives
  • Support social media and local marketing efforts

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Partner closely with the Executive Director to align sales strategy with operational goals
  • Participate in stand-up meetings and cross-department collaboration
  • Assist with special events, open houses, and community programs

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of successful sales experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or real estate
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding occupancy or revenue goals
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to individuals and groups
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and basic office technology
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
