Position Details

Position Title: Utility Construction Laborer

Reports To: Foreman/Project Manager

Department: Field Operations

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Reporting Location: Whitmore Lake, MI


Position Summary

Join a team performing trenchless rehabilitation work that keeps critical infrastructure running. As a CIPP Install Laborer, you'll work hands-on with a skilled crew installing cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) systems for sanitary and storm sewers using industry-leading methods.

This is an active, field-based role with travel throughout Michigan, offering the opportunity to develop specialized skills in a growing segment of the utility construction industry.


What You'll Do
  • Perform cleaning, inspection, and rehabilitation of sanitary and storm sewer systems
  • Assist with CIPP installation methods including steam curing, water inversion, and pull-in-place systems
  • Operate and support use of specialized equipment and tools
  • Drive and operate CDL-required vehicles as needed
  • Travel to job sites throughout Michigan, including overnight stays (home on weekends)
  • Follow all safety procedures and job site requirements
  • Support crew leadership and continue developing technical skills
Compensation

Compensation is based on the applicable union scale, with opportunities for higher starting pay based on experience.

  • Minimum Starting Pay: $31.66/hour ($27.66/hour base wage + $4.00/hour vacation pay (taxable))

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Valid Michigan CDL Class B with tanker endorsement (required)
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and team-first mindset
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work (standing, squatting, lifting for extended periods)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening, participate in random drug testing, and maintain a satisfactory driving record (MVR)
