Unarmed Security Guard

Employer: AEGIS Security & Investigations, Inc. (embarc is supporting the vetting process only)


About the Role

This position is an unarmed security guard role with AEGIS Security & Investigations, Inc. The guard will be assigned to work onsite at an embarc retail location, though embarc is not the employer.


The role focuses on crime and violence prevention, customer service, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, customers, and property.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prevent crime, respond to incidents, and provide a visible security presence.
  • Assist with physical and personal security functions for clients.
  • Patrol the work site on foot for the duration of the shift as instructed.
  • Monitor for and document signs of intrusion, property damage, theft, missing items, and unusual occurrences.
  • Complete daily activity and incident reports accurately and thoroughly.
  • Perform access control by monitoring and regulating the entrance and exit of employees, visitors, and vendors.
  • Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
  • Maintain order through customer and crowd interaction when necessary.
  • Call law enforcement or first responders during emergencies.
  • Conduct pat-downs and metal detection screenings when required.
  • Enforce applicable laws, policies, and codes.
  • Interact professionally with colleagues, supervisors, clients, and the public.
Minimum Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in high-end security, military, or law enforcement.
  • Valid California BSIS Guard Card (required).
  • Completion of 40 hours of BSIS training and the most recent annual refresher.
  • High school diploma or GED; associate degree or some college preferred.
  • Professional appearance and excellent English communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Strong attendance history and demonstrated integrity.
  • Cell phone with text and internet access, plus an active email account.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Availability, Schedule & Compensation
  • On-call unarmed security position.
  • Weekends required.
  • Security agents typically work 12-50 hours per week throughout the county and may become eligible for full-time positions after the probation period.
  • Unarmed pay: $20/hr at this location.
