Weekend Typing information

What is a weekend typing?

A Weekend Typing job involves typing or data entry tasks that need to be completed on weekends. These jobs can include transcribing documents, entering data into databases, or formatting text. They are often remote and flexible, making them ideal for students, freelancers, or anyone looking for extra income. Employers may require typing speed and accuracy, along with basic computer skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in weekend typing?

To thrive as a Weekend Typing professional, you need excellent typing speed and accuracy, attention to detail, and basic computer proficiency, often demonstrated through prior clerical or administrative experience. Familiarity with word processing software like Microsoft Word or Google Docs and, in some cases, experience with data entry platforms or transcription tools is beneficial. Dependability, time management, and effective communication are valuable soft skills in this position. These skills ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately, and within tight weekend deadlines, often with limited oversight.

What are the typical work hours and expectations for weekend typing?

Weekend Typing roles are usually structured around Saturday and Sunday shifts, which may be full- or part-time, depending on the employer's needs. You can expect responsibilities such as transcribing documents, entering data, formatting reports, or supporting administrative projects with timely and accurate typing. Many of these positions offer remote or flexible work arrangements, though some require being present in an office environment for collaboration or access to confidential materials. Clear communication and meeting quick turnaround times are often key expectations, as weekend projects may contribute to productivity goals or weekly reporting cycles.

Job description

Customer Service Representative – ICBC Auto (Commercial Fleets)

Do you have experience with ICBC and fleet or commercial auto clients? Are you looking to build a long-term career in commercial auto insurance with no evening or weekend shifts? Join Aon and help us deliver exceptional service to our commercial clients.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $57,000. The actual salary will vary based on your education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity. Aon also offers a bonus opportunity and a comprehensive benefits package.

Aon is in the business of better decisions

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day will look like

No two days are the same in this role. You will use your ICBC and customer service expertise to:

  • Support commercial auto clients (fleets and garages) by providing accurate, timely information on products, services and coverage options.
  • Process ICBC transactions end-to-end, including new, renewal and mid-term changes to registrations, license plates, temporary operating permits, transfers, garage policies, floater plates, prorate plates, special coverage policies and cancellations.
  • Analyze and resolve client inquiries, identifying needs and matching them with appropriate ICBC products and Aon solutions.
  • Maintain a deep working knowledge of ICBC products and guidelines, staying current on changes and new requirements.
  • Manage and service an established book of Commercial Auto business, create and refine documentation, and collaborate with account management teams on Commercial Auto plan and fleet-related inquiries.

How this opportunity is different

In this role, you will work primarily with commercial clients, including National, North American and Global organizations, in a predictable Monday-to-Friday schedule with no weekends, statutory holidays or evening shifts. You can focus on delivering excellent service without sales targets, while benefiting from specialized training on fleets, garage policies, prorate and other commercial auto products. You will be based in a convenient downtown location close to major transit routes and be part of a collaborative, supportive team that invests in your ongoing learning and professional development.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 2+ years of Autoplan experience, including hands-on ICBC transaction processing.
  • Proven experience with ICBC batching and plate inventory management.
  • Strong client service and communication skills, with confidence handling high volumes of phone and email interactions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn and navigate multiple systems.
  • Knowledge of fleets and garage policies is an asset; we will train the right candidate.
  • Insurance Brokers Association of British Columbia (IBABC) Level One (1) License required.
  •

Aon is not accepting unsolicited resumes from search firms for this position. If you are a search firm, you will not be compensated in any way for your submission of a candidate, even if Aon hires that candidate.
