Our AI-driven customer experience makes the lending process faster, less frustrating, and more affordable. By passing these savings directly to homebuyers, we eliminate excessive fees and inflated rates that cost Americans billions each year. Backed by top-tier venture investors, including Ribbit, Citi Ventures, NFX and Progressive Insurance, Tomo is poised to become one of the most valuable fintech startups of our generation.
Sales Manager, Business Development
Location: New York, NY
Type: Full-Time, Hybrid (In-office Mon-Wed, Remote Thurs-Fri)
About the Role
The Sales Manager, Pre-Approval Advisors (PAAs), our version of Business Development Representatives, leads the front line of Tomo's sales organization. You'll lead and develop a high-volume inside sales team that engages prospective homebuyers and guides them through the earliest stages of the mortgage journey. This is a hands-on role for a data-driven sales leader who loves coaching, execution, and building repeatable performance in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Pre-Approval Advisors (BDRs)
  • Drive daily execution across calls, texts, responsiveness, and pipeline management
  • Own performance across key funnel stages from lead to Loan Advisor handoff
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, call reviews, and performance coaching
  • Use data to diagnose gaps, improve conversion, and raise the bar
  • Hire, onboard, and ramp new PAAs - You're building the bench of future Loan Advisors
  • Collaborate with sales leadership and cross-functional partners to improve the customer experience and conversion rates

What is required?
  • 1+ year of experience directly managing SDR/BDR or inside sales teams or 2+ years as a Team Lead
  • Experience with a sales Tech Stack
    • Salesforce, Hubspot or similar
    • Sigma, Tableau or similar
    • Slack, Teams or similar
    • Gong, Avoma, Zoom phone or similar
  • Willingness and ability to be available to your team via Slack intermittently on weekends and evenings as needs arise
  • A growth mindset and life long learner approach

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Call Center Tech:
    • Twilio Flex, Zoom Contact Center, Ring Central, Five9 or similar
  • Strong track record of coaching to metrics and outcomes
  • Comfort operating in a high-volume, performance-driven environment
  • Clear communicator who can deliver direct, actionable feedback
  • Experience in FinTech or PropTech is a plus
  • Experience working cross functionally with Product, Engineering and CRM Support teams

Why Tomo
