Job Summary/Description:
The Executive Producer of Streaming for 12 On Your Side is a full-time role reporting to the Digital Content Director that directs the daily editorial vision and execution of the station's 24/7 streaming news products. Key responsibilities include leading daily editorial meetings, producing live streaming updates, managing programming schedules, and optimizing clipped content for VOD, social media platforms, and other duties as assigned.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Own the editorial vision and daily execution of streaming newscasts and live coverage, including breaking news, special events, weather, and continuing coverage.
- Lead two daily editorial meetings, setting the agenda, aligning priorities, assigning coverage, and driving accountability for follow-through.
- Coordinate across newsroom teams (newsroom leadership, digital team, producers, and reporters/anchors) to ensure cohesive coverage across linear, digital, and streaming.
- Maintain high editorial standards for accuracy, fairness, verification, and transparency; ensure coverage meets station and company policies.
- Own the streaming schedule/programming strategy, keeping the lineup accurate and up to date. Arrange additional livestreams and VOD to maximize local content 24/7.
- Clip and distribute streaming content on the station's social channels with SEO- and AI-search-friendly titles.
- Use audience and performance insights to refine formats, segment choices, and programming strategy.
- Collaborate with engineering/IT/operations on streaming workflows, reliability, and troubleshooting during live programming.
- Ensure compliance with legal, standards, and licensing requirements (music, footage usage, permissions, etc.).
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated strong news judgment, writing/editing ability, and performance under breaking-news pressure.
- Control-room familiarity (rundown systems, IFB/comms, graphics, video playback, switching/automation environments).
- Proven leadership skills: running meetings, assigning work, and driving execution across teams.
