Job Title: Fabrication AssociateJob DescriptionThe Fabrication Associate operates laser and related fabrication equipment to accurately cut production parts according to schedule, quality standards, and engineering specifications. Working under the guidance of a senior laser fabricator, this role follows detailed drawings and blueprints, uses precision measuring tools, and performs routine maintenance and documentation to support safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities- Load and unload the Trumpf laser and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Utilize production equipment to perform a variety of manufacturing operations to cut production parts according to the production schedule.
- Work under the supervision of a Laser Fabricator II and follow direction to complete assigned tasks.
- Interpret and work from drawings, blueprints, models, specifications, and verbal instructions to produce accurate parts.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to lay out, check, and verify all dimensions and tolerances.
- Follow all required steps in the manufacturing standard work process to ensure consistency and quality.
- Apply mathematical skills to calculate cutting speeds, feeds, angles, offsets, and other machining parameters.
- Utilize knowledge of working properties and machining processes for materials including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Meet or exceed daily production requirements in accordance with production specifications and goals set by the Production Supervisor.
- Perform production checks to ensure parts meet engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and change tooling as required to keep equipment in proper working condition.
- Complete manual and electronic documentation related to machining operations to ensure compliance with internal, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Operate CNC machines and laser machines in accordance with established procedures.
- Handle sheet metal, steel, aluminum, and related materials using equipment such as shear, grinder, and bandsaw.
- Use ERP business systems software as required for the specific area of responsibility, including recording production data and tracking work orders.
- Contribute to a safe work environment by following all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Essential Skills- At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of CNC machining experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in operating CNC machines and laser fabrication equipment.
- Experience as a machine operator working with sheet metal, steel, aluminum, and related materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, models, and specifications.
- Strong blueprint reading skills for fabrication and sheet metal work.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers, to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Solid math skills to perform calculations for cutting speeds, feeds, angles, offsets, and other machining parameters.
- Familiarity with ERP business systems software relevant to manufacturing operations.
- Current and valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets insurability guidelines.
- Ability to follow standard work processes and production procedures consistently.
- Capability to perform routine maintenance and tooling changes on fabrication and CNC equipment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to meeting engineering specifications and quality standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Experience with fabrication processes involving sheet metal and structural materials.
- Hands-on experience with equipment such as shear, grinder, and bandsaw.
- Knowledge of machining processes for a wide variety of materials, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Comfort working from verbal instructions in addition to formal drawings and specifications.
- Ability to work effectively under supervision while maintaining a high level of personal responsibility.
- Strong organizational skills to manage production tasks and documentation.

Work EnvironmentWork takes place in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility with active fabrication and CNC operations. The standard schedule consists of 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday, with the possibility of additional work on Fridays as needed. The first shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including a half-hour lunch break and a mid-morning break. Team members work around production equipment such as Trumpf lasers, CNC machines, shear, grinders, and bandsaws, and are expected to follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate work attire suitable for an industrial environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roanoke, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
