Job Summary
The Tree Care Climber is responsible for assisting the Foreman by helping lead the crew, climbing and trimming trees, operating equipment such as chainsaws and chippers and helping other crew members with tasks and continually learning new things. Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Pruning and removing trees and shrubs.
  • Using small tools such as shovels, rakes, chainsaws, and other applicable equipment.
  • Cleaning, organizing and following tasks as a crew to take care of our clients.
  • Willing to learn and grow to become even better.
  • Climbing trees for pruning or removals
  • Knowledgeable about trees and tree climbing techniques
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Able to follow specific instructions and safety protocols.
  • Applicable knowledge on climbing harnesses, tree gaffs, chippers, chainsaws, and rigging techniques
  • Comfortable climbing to heights of up to 60 ft
  • Proper felling techniques
  • Follow safety guidelines and OSHA standards.
  • Follow ANSI Z133 and ANSI A300 standards.

Education
High School diploma or equivalent.
Physical requirements/Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to verbally exchange information with colleagues, managers, and vendors. The position is active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. The employee must frequently reach for, pull, lift, and/or move items weighing up to and over 50 lbs. The employee must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind. The position is expected to be full-time and may be scheduled on weekdays and weekends.
