The Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) participates asa member of the Autism Intensive Model (AIM) team within SupportedLiving for Hope Human Services clients. This position focuses on deliveringevidence-based practice driven services to clients in Supported Living, andhave an Autism diagnosis. Clients within the AIM program may have a significantdeficit in communication and interaction, and/or repeated behaviors orinterests, that impact their quality of life. AIM program works directly withthe client and their care team to implement a person-driven treatment plan andtraining goals, contriving opportunities to focus on client skill-development.

Behavior Intervention Specialist Job Responsibilities
Behavior Intervention Specialists will be largely based indirect engagement with individuals within their current home environment andcentered on skill-development, data collection, and coaching on appropriatesupports.
Responsibilities include:
  • Working directly with clients on targeted goals and skill-development using evidence-based practices
  • Accurately collecting/reviewing data and participating in collaboration meetings
  • Responsible for the implementation and training of supports
  • Works collaboratively with all other disciplines to ensure all needs are met for the individuals
  • Consult and assist with implementation of communication alternatives, adaptive equipment, daily routines, and activity schedules as needed

• Provide training to Supported Living staff as relatedto the plan and implementation of services
• Attend weekly clinical meetings with the AIMteam
o Ensure that all documentation is in place andaccurate prior to the meeting
o Ensure that all needed "to-dos" are completedprior to the meeting
Position Requirements*
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Have experience with individuals with Autism
  • Have one year experience as a qualified Behavioral Specialist/RBT
  • Must be able to travel to various program locations and work flexible hours which can include evenings and weekends depending on the needs of the individuals we support
  • Proof of vehicle insurance and an acceptable driving record
  • Able to pass federal and state background checks and maintain clearance during employment
  • Ability to interface with multiple data collection systems (e.g. Therap, Microsoft Forms, Google suite, etc.)
