Position: Traffic Control Technician 


Position Overview:  The Traffic Control Flagger oversees and maintains safe and efficient traffic patterns around construction zones. This role involves implementing and monitoring traffic control measures, equipment handling, and collaborating closely with construction crews to ensure safety and compliance at job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and oversee traffic control devices such as cones, barricades, signs, arrow boards, and temporary traffic lights.
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment to transport traffic control materials to and from job sites.
  • Monitor and adjust traffic patterns and control measures as necessary.
  • Report any incidents or safety concerns promptly to supervisors.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance to ensure all items remain in proper working condition.
  • Collaborate with construction crew members and supervisors to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs of traffic control equipment in the shop as needed.
  • Execute tasks according to temporary traffic control plans and flagging operations.
  • Control and monitor flagging stations effectively to ensure pedestrian and vehicle safety.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to daily tasks and project activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Prior traffic control or flagging experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate company trucks safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge and experience with traffic control measures, devices, and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work flexible shifts, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • Ability to remain standing for the majority of the shift.
