ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Machine Operators I must have a strong understanding of the machines they work with and are responsible for ensuring our company produces on-time quality parts for our customers. In-depth training may be required to prepare a Machine Operator for their daily duties. The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to start and stop the machine safely without supervision.
  • Ability to place unfinished parts and remove finished parts from machine safely.
  • Monitor machine operation.
  • Check part quality with designated measurement instruments. Understand when and how to stop machine safely.
  • Assist in the maintenance, and repair of machinery.
  • Operate tools and machinery to aid the manufacturing process.
  • Perform periodic checks on equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Oversee the machine while executing tasks and make necessary adjustments to improve results.
  • Produce quality parts according to manufacturing targets and schedules as directed by the Plant Manager.
  • Record all machine actions and log completed parts for record keeping.
  • Assume responsibility for ensuring the duties of this position are performed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Keep a clean and orderly work area.
  • Willingness to work occasional rotating shifts that may include early or late hours, weekends, or overtime if necessary.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Plant Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be willing to learn and improve to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• High school diploma or GED required. Adequate work experience may be substituted in lieu of diploma or GED.

• Willingness to follow written or oral work instructions and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility.

• Familiarity of various manufacturing tools and machinery including but not limited to facers, lathes, CNC’s, and other mechanical machinery.

• Bilingual language skills in English and Spanish.

• Ability to work well with others, be organized and detail-oriented.

• Ability to lift heavy equipment, to bend, and to stand or walk for long periods of time.

• Willingness to work in occasional rotating shifts that may include early or late hours, weekends, or overtime if necessary.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

• Satisfactory pre-employment drug testing is required.

• All applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
