Job Description
We are seeking dependable Event Staffing / General Laborers to assist with event setup, breakdown, and general labor duties for events with the City of Biloxi. This position requires individuals who are comfortable performing physical work, following instructions, and working as part of a team to ensure event areas are properly prepared and maintained.
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, arrange, and break down chairs, tables, stanchions, barricades, and other event equipment.
  • Move and position equipment and materials according to event layout instructions.
  • Assist with preparing event spaces before scheduled activities.
  • Perform general labor duties associated with event setup and cleanup.
  • Load, unload, carry, and organize event supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with crowd-control setup by properly placing stanchions and designated barriers.
  • Maintain clean and organized event areas before, during, and after events.
  • Break down event equipment and return materials to designated storage areas.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and City of Biloxi event personnel.
  • Follow all established safety procedures while lifting, moving, and setting up equipment.
  • Perform additional general labor and event support duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Previous event setup, general labor, warehouse, or similar experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and move chairs, tables, stanchions, and other event equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform physical work for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
  • Must be available to work varying schedules based on event needs, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Appropriate work attire and closed-toe shoes required.
