The Warehouse Team Member supports the warehouse team by ensuring all materials are prepared and handled properly for storage, production, and distribution processes within the metro food production facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily operations of the warehouse team by preparing all materials for efficient workflow processes within the facility, ensuring all targets are met and safety protocols are followed.
  • Comprehend and follow instructions, packing lists, pick sheets/fulfillment orders, inventory count sheets, and purchase orders. 
  • Select ingredients and inventory items required for production and pack them securely for use or distribution. Ensure the correct quantities and types of items are chosen, preventing errors on the production line and maintain allergen segregation throughout the facility.
  • Transfer bulk ingredients or products into smaller, properly labeled containers for ease of use in production. Adhere to safety and hygiene standards to prevent contamination.
  • Wash and sanitize equipment, containers, and work areas to meet US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Whole Foods Market cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries of ingredients and supplies, inspecting them for quality and accuracy, and safely storing them in designated areas.
  • Ensure all ingredients and products are correctly labeled with relevant information, such as allergens, batch numbers, expiration dates, and storage instructions for traceability and compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Restack product as needed for storage and staging of product to be stocked.
  • Check in-stock ingredient dates to ensure freshness and rotate when necessary using (First In First Out (FIFO or (First Expired First Out) FEFO.
  • Work with production, quality assurance, and distribution teams to ensure seamless workflow and address any issues related to ingredients or inventory items.
  • Understand the use of time and temperature indicator labels.
  • Clear receiving areas of product, recyclable materials, and trash.
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
  • Report safety violations and hazards immediately; help maintain facility security.


Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years of experience in a production kitchen, distribution center, warehouse, or food manufacturing facility environment.  
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain management, environmental health and safety, and OSHA. 
  • Ability to work well with others, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the facility, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions: 

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.  
  • Must adhere to company dress code and standards of production kitchen dress and personal protective equipment (PPE).  
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodation. 
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.  
  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.  
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.  
  • Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.  
  • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.  
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.  
  • May require use of ladders.

The wage range for this position is $21.50-$35.00 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits".
