Department: PW/Street Maintenance

Are you ready to keep the streets of beautiful Lake Havasu City safe and smooth? We are looking for a hardworkingStreet Maintenance Specialist to join our team. If you enjoy working outdoors and have a knack for heavy equipment and construction, this is the role for you!

THE ROLE

You’ll perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks to maintain our city’s infrastructure—from asphalt patching and concrete finishing to operating heavy machinery like Bobcats and Sweepers. You will also play a critical role in roadway traffic control and public safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintenance & Repair:Patch holes, seal cracks, and repair roads/curbs. Set forms and pour concrete for sidewalks and ramps.
  • Equipment Operation:Safely operate light and heavy equipment, including backhoes, loaders, and paint striping trucks.
  • Infrastructure Care:Fabricate and install street signs, paint crosswalks, and maintain drainage systems/washes.
  • Safety & Traffic:Set up traffic control zones, perform flagging duties, and ensure a safe environment for the public.
  • Public Service:Respond to citizen inquiries and maintain accurate daily work reports.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • The Great Outdoors:You’ll be working in Lake Havasu’s famous sunshine.
  • Flexibility:This position involves non-standard shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-backs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience:Moderate experience in construction, street maintenance, or groundskeeping.
  • Licenses:Must possess a valid Driver’s License. Ability to obtain anArizona Commercial Driver License (Class A) with Tanker Endorsementwithin one year of hire (Trainee status applies until obtained).
IDEAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Proficiency with power tools (concrete saws, air hammers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of roadway traffic control and construction safety.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with the public.
