Overview
The Software Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance applications hosted on-prem and in the cloud, primarily on the AWS platform under the direction and guidance of experienced team members. This role involves working closely with our development team to design, develop, test, and deploy secure, scalable, and reliable solutions that meet our business needs.
Job Duties
  • Develop and maintain reliable, efficient cloud-based applications aligned with industry best practices (Essential)
  • Identify bugs and align with requirements during debugging (Essential)
  • Implement application features and participate in the configuration and deployment of software components under the direction of senior team members (Essential)
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to ensure AWS cloud environments support internal needs
  • Work efficiently from a task board such as Wrike, ADO, Jira, or similar and communicate progress or blockers promptly
  • Produce output that consistently demonstrates pride and craftmanship
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation on custom enhancements, integrations, and environments
  • Follow established best practices and data governance procedures in development and integration of applications
  • Contribute to discussions on technical design and participate in peer review sessions
  • Participate in technical architecture and code review meetings, learning from senior team members
  • Assist in maintaining and improving existing application infrastructure
  • Write or update infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar
  • Write or update YAML based Azure DevOps Pipelines
  • Write unit tests to validate core functionality and support automated testing processes
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Required)
  • 3 years in experience as a Backend Developer, Software Developer, Software Engineer or equivalent (Required)
  • Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems
  • Familiarity with cloud-based applications and services on the AWS platform
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and contribute to technical solutions under guidance from senior team members
  • Experience building and integrating REST APIs (SOAP experience a plus)
  • Experience developing scalable, maintainable applications using modern programming languages
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, C#, .NET Framework, or .NET 5+
  • Basic understanding of application performance monitoring and logging tools
  • Exposure to infrastructure as code concepts (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform)
  • Familiarity with serverless or event-driven architectures (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, SQS, Service Bus, etc.)
  • Understanding of front-end technologies (e.g., Angular, React, or Vue) sufficient to collaborate with front-end developers
  • Working knowledge of software engineering best practices, including version control (Git), code reviews, and automated testing
  • Proficiency with SQL and a basic understanding of NoSQL data models
  • Must have a valid driver's license
