Specimen Processor

Harrisburg - Harrisburg, PA 17110

Overview

Salary Range $20.00 - $25.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Travel Percentage None

Description

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and aliquot incoming samples for reference lab testing
  • Stock supply bins
  • Troubleshoot Medical Assistant and Provider questions, escalate to lab manager when appropriate
  • Order entry for Quest Diagnostic samples
  • Clean and sanitize work surfaces
  • Monitor supply usage and inform lab manager if low on inventory
  • Identify errors and communicate to lab manager for review
  • Backup to client services and lab manager for incoming calls – direct calls to necessary parties

Requirements:

  • Commitment to providing high quality care to historically underserved populations
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, Excel, Word and how to use Electronic Medical Records
  • Experience with patient centered care
  • Punctuality and impeccable attendance
  • Strong communication skills with both professionals and patients from all demographics
