What You’ll Do

  • Embody the mission and values of Atlas Schools by fostering a rigorous, inclusive, and joyful learning environment for all students
  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned Spanish lessons that build students’ skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing
  • Teach and scaffold Spanish language acquisition through immersive instruction, real-world contexts, and authentic materials
  • Introduce and celebrate the diverse cultures, histories, and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries, reinforcing global awareness and respect
  • Create a classroom environment that supports language practice, and cultural exploration while maintaining high academic and behavioral expectations
  • Develop and administer assessments (formative and summative) to track student progress in language proficiency and cultural understanding
  • Analyze assessment data and adjust instruction to ensure student growth and achievement
  • Serve as an advisor to a group of students and their families, providing regular communication, problem-solving support, and scheduling and attending all quarterly family conferences
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with families through active engagement aimed at understanding their backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences
  • Document and maintain course syllabi, unit plans, and lesson materials for school-wide retention and instructional alignment
  • Collaborate with colleagues and instructional coaches with sincerity and a growth mindset 
  • Support colleagues during their absences by providing classroom coverage (compensated additionally)
  • Draft and revise meaningful report card comments that reflect student progress in Spanish language development and cultural engagement
  • Participate in professional development to stay current with best practices in world language instruction and pedagogy
  • Maintain and support a high-expectations school culture through consistent systems and a strong student-teacher rapport
  • Support the summer program and participate in school events such as field trips, academic support sessions, and community-building initiatives
  • Contribute to daily school operations including arrival, dismissal, lunch supervision, and hallway transitions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Compensation & Schedule 

  • Salaried/Exempt
  • Signing Bonus: $1,000
  • Annual Salary Range*: $50,500 - $63,549
  • Full Time; Monday – Friday; Occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Who You Are

Required Qualifications 

  • Must be fluent in both Spanish and English (written and verbal)
  • Able to meet “in-field status” for the position with one of the following:
    • Colorado Department of Education License with endorsement in World Languages
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish
    • 24 completed credit hours aligned with CDE requirements
    • Completed/passed the PRAXIS 5195 within the last 10 years
  • Ability to successfully pass all required background screening pursuant to CRS § 22-30.5-110.7
