Testing 123Summary:The Wellness Nurse Specialist is responsible for overseeing the implementation of AgeWell Solvere Living wellness processes, systems and programs in the nursing departments. This position works directly with the Executive Director, Wellness Director, Valeo Director, Salus coach and other community department heads, as needed, to ensure policy and procedures are implemented and regulatory compliance is maintained. The Wellness Nurse Specialist supports the community when there is a vacancy in a wellness director in a community to support the continued operation of the nursing department. They will assist in the training and education of department heads and at times front line staff. This person will provide on-site and long- distance assistance to communities on a daily basis.
Responsibilities include:- Provide on-site support to community in absence of a Wellness Director
- Ensure clinical services are provided in accordance with state regulations, accepted clinical standards, and Community policies & procedures
- Ensure on-going compliance and assist in implementation of EMR/EMAR system
- Assist in direct onboarding and training of new Wellness Directors
- Provide continued support to Wellness Directors in each community
- Assist in implementation of AgeWell Solvere Living systems and programs in newly licensed and unlicensed communities, as well as newly added communities to the AWSL portfolio
- Is aware and knowledgeable of the federal and state laws and regulations regarding assisted living/memory care and the regulations of the state's nursing commission; ensures and maintains regulatory compliance with all such regulations
- Provide follow up and oversight to community for Plan of Correction following Quality Assurance Audits
- Participate in AgeWell Solvere Living's Annual Quality Assurance Program at the communities
- Provide site visit reports and plans of correction as needed to the management team following community site visits
- Assist in implementation of new AgeWell Solvere Living and wellness initiatives in each community
- Collaborates with AgeWell Solvere Living's wellness team and other AWSL management team members, as needed
- Available after-hours for issues related to current resident needs
Qualifications:- Must be a Registered Nurse with a compact license licensed with either of the following:
- A baccalaureate degree in nursing and a minimum of two (2) years of full time, or the equivalent of full-time, clinical experience in nursing, at least one year of which shall be in a home healthcare agency or Community health program that included care of the sick at home; or
- A diploma or associates degree in nursing and at least four (4) years of full-time, or the equivalent of full-time, clinical experience in nursing within the past ten (10) years, at least (1) year of which shall be in a home healthcare agency or Community health program that included care of the sick at home
- Experience and passion in working with older adults
- Able to perform tasks which may be physically demanding such as pushing, bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds
- Able to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, community team members, peers and AgeWell Solvere Living team members
- In good physical and emotional health and free of communicable diseases
- Able to spend long periods of time walking or standing
- Able to react quickly and accurately in any situation
Authority Guidelines:- Serves as a resource, support and expert in the areas of wellness within a community
- Will coach and provide direction in areas of wellness to community teams as needed
- Will communicate all new tasks assigned and initiatives with department head as well as to the Executive Director
- Will inform and review with Chief Wellness and Compliance Officer of Wellness situations involving:
- residents with clinical risks
- questionable move ins
- potential resident move outs
- programming implementation updates and concerns
- licensing concerns, questions or presence in a community
- department head performance concerns
- Will immediately communicate with Chief Wellness and Compliance Officer of any immediate concerns identified while on site at a community or informed of via phone call
Miscellaneous:- May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents' apartments
- May have picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising
- May be required to work weekends and holidays as assigned
- May be required to work on shifts other than the one for which hired
- May be required to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day)
- May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including HIV, AIDS, and Hepatitis B & C viruses
- Could be subject to hostile and emotionally upset Residents due to mental status
- Background, criminal, and drug tests may be required
- May be asked to submit to random drug test during employment
Travel Requirements:- Ability to travel between states up to 75% of the time
