Job Summary
Sun Tribe EPC ("Sun Tribe") is Virginia's premier utility-scale solar design and build firm, specializing in small and medium size ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) facilities. Our construction efforts are focused throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, Maryland, and neighboring states. The Regional Director, Construction Management (MD, PA, DE) is accountable for construction execution performance, team effectiveness, and delivery outcomes across an assigned region or defined portfolio of projects. This role drives regional construction strategy, ensures consistency in execution, and develops Construction Management capability to support business growth and operational excellence.
As a critical part of the delivery team, the Regional Director is fully accountable for construction performance and delivery outcomes across the assigned region or portfolio. This leader will develop construction execution strategies during preconstruction and will monitor, manage, and drive projects to remain on schedule and within budget while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and design standards and alignment with Sun Tribe's core values throughout the construction process.
This position reports directly to the Vice President, Construction and manages the Construction Management team across the MD, PA, and DE regional portfolio. This role works closely with project management, project engineering, quality, EHS, clients, subcontractors, and executive leadership.
Principal Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop Construction Managers across an assigned region or portfolio of projects, driving accountability, execution consistency, and operational performance
  • Oversee construction execution performance across multiple active projects, including schedule, safety, quality, staffing, and budget performance
  • Develop construction execution strategies during preconstruction and support mobilization readiness planning
  • Serve as a senior construction leader for high priority or high complexity projects across the portfolio
  • Monitor project performance trends, identify risks, and intervene as needed to support successful project delivery
  • Manage allocation of construction personnel, equipment, and operational resources across projects within assigned region or portfolio
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, hiring, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of Construction Management personnel
  • Establish and reinforce expectations related to safety, quality, environmental compliance, reporting standards, and execution discipline
  • Lead resolution of complex field, client, subcontractor, staffing, and execution related issues
  • Maintain field presence during critical construction phases to reinforce standards, support teams, and assess project performance
  • Partner cross functionally with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and EHS teams to drive successful project outcomes
  • Support development and continuous improvement of construction management processes, tools, and operational standards
Basic Qualifications Required
  • Education required: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related technical field preferred
  • A minimum of twelve (12) years of construction, project management, or related experience required, including significant utility-scale solar EPC or equivalent construction experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading construction teams and overseeing performance across multiple projects or regions
  • Strong understanding of construction execution, subcontractor management, site logistics, scheduling, and field operations
  • Valid driver's license and eligibility for corporate vehicle insurance coverage
Skills & Experience Preferred
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and teams simultaneously
  • Experience in workforce planning, staffing allocation, and operational leadership
  • Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, and construction scheduling tools such as MS Project
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement, both individually and across the construction organization
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, dynamic construction environments while maintaining alignment with Sun Tribe core values

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Some evening and/or weekend work may be required
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work at project sites throughout the MD, PA, and DE region and neighboring states as required
  • Standard work hours may change based on project demands, weather conditions, site issues, and construction schedules
  • Role requires a mix of office and field work, with the majority of time spent on active construction sites
  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site hazards
  • Wearing of standard personal protective equipment while on project sites

Compensation and Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000 annually. The final compensation offered may vary based on factors including experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
