Job Description:
Job Summary
The Agricultural Research and Graduate Education (ARGE) office is seeking an undergraduate student with strong social media skills to support content creation across platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. In this role, the student will help develop engaging posts, manage online presence and track social media performance. They will also conduct in-person and remote interviews of Purdue faculty and staff to generate storylines, written product and work closely with the Purdue On The Farm (POTF) administrator and support team on print and promotional projects. Additionally, the position includes assisting the POTF team with light administrative tasks, including mailings, data entry and general office support. This opportunity is idea for a proactive individual with strong communication skills and a passion for both agriculture and digital media. Assist in planning, writing, and managing content creation Interview Purdue students, faculty, staff and others to gather information for content Update the Purdue On The Farm website using Cascade web content management system Design graphics and other marketing material Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and tools for communication and marketing Provide input for creative marketing strategics and social media campaigns Assist with photo and video content shoots Support special events and other projects as needed.
Experience
Effective communication and writing skills Firm grasp of social media tools and platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn Understanding of basic principles of communication, marketing and/or public relations Creativity and initiative to follow through on projects to meet pre-determined deadlines Ability to work well independently and within a team Enthusiasm for creating compelling content Adaptability to change plans when unexpected challenges arise Commitment to the continuous improvement of quality Attention to detail
