General Maintenance Worker(Snow Removal Operations)

Location:Colorado Springs, CO (United States Air Force Academy)

Type:Non-Exempt

Work Schedule:PartTime,On-Call.

Compensation:$28.00/hourly

Deadline: July 31, 2026

Tesserais seeking a reliable General Maintenance Worker (Snow Removal Operations) to support and coordinate base snow removal efforts. This role includes conducting inspections,maintainingcommunication with supervisors and team members, supporting 24-hour standby operations, clearing roadways, performing equipment checks and minor repairs, and documenting activities to ensure mission readiness and safety.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for base snow removal (snow control) operations.

  • Conduct base snow inspections and communicate findings to the Pavements & Equipment (P&E) Manager and teamleads.

  • Respond to phone inquiries, document snow removal activities, andmaintainclear communication with the team via two-way radio.

  • Accurately log all snow removal operations and related information asrequired.

  • Support 24-hour snow removal operations, including plowing and clearing, under the direction of the P&E Managerand leads toensure mission-ready roadways.

  • Report to the USAFA within one hour when placed on standby.

  • Perform routine equipment inspections to ensure trucks and small equipment are safe and fully operational.

  • Document and report maintenance or repair needs to the vehicle maintenance facility prior to operation.

  • Complete minor maintenance tasks and carry outadditionalduties as assigned.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability toperformthe following physical demands for extended periods of time with or withoutassistance. The physical demands of this position may bereasonably accommodatedfor individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • May berequiredto reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also berequired.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • A valid state driver's license isrequiredwith the ability to obtain andmaintaincoverage byTessera'sinsurance.CDL preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of general maintenance experience preferred

  • Musthavepracticalknowledgeofworksitesafety,occupationalhazardsandstandardsafetypractices.

  • Mustbeabletoperformduties under adverseweather conditions(extremecold/heat,etc.).

  • Mustbeabletoperformstand-bydutieswhenscheduledandreporttoworkwithinonehourofnotification.

  • Must beabletoworkalternate and extendedshift schedules when necessary to meet themission requirements of the customer to include weekends and holidays.
