The Facilities Apprentice plays a vital, hands-on role in supporting the physical and ministry environment of Cherry Hills Community Church. This entry-level position is designed for someone eager to grow in practical maintenance skills while serving with excellence and humility. Whether responding to urgent facility needs or setting up unique events and keeping spaces clean, safe, and ministry-ready, the apprentice is a key contributor to our mission of creating a welcoming place for people to encounter Jesus. This role is ideal for a dependable, self-starting individual with a heart for service, a desire to grow, and the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing church environment.

Requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous exposure to custodial, event support, or general labor is helpful but not necessary.
  • Ideal for individuals seeking to build hands-on experience in facilities operations within a ministry-focused environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid driver’s license with ability to operate church vehicles safely (e.g. carts, vans, trucks etc.).
  • Demonstrates emotional composure and flexibility in dynamic, high-demand situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with collaborative and service-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrates initiative, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Eagerness to develop practical skills in maintenance and facilities support, with a long-term goal of growth within the department.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with common office technologies, including email, printers/copiers, shared drives, and organizational software platforms; able to troubleshoot basic issues and learn new tools quickly.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and working under pressure.
  • Available for evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
  • Must pass a CHCC background check.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in written and verbal form.
  • Understand and apply biblical principles, policies, and ministry materials.
