CO-CURRICULAR JOB DESCRIPTION

BARRINGTON COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT 220

Position Title: FRC Robotics Club Sponsor Reports To: Associate Principal of Extracurricular & Operations Supervises: N/A Season: Yearly Position Summary The Activity Sponsor supports the planning, coordination, and management of athletic programs, ensuring smooth operations for all sports teams. Qualifications:
  • Licensed as a certified teacher and working at school of desired position
  • Completed mandated concussion training
  • Previous experience in coaching or participating in athletics preferred, but not required
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work positively and productively with adults and student participants
Expectations:

1. Follow and enforce all regulations, policies, philosophies, and administrative directives as set by the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA), Board of Education Policies, and District 220 Policies.

2. Assist with the hosting responsibilities for all non-Conference, Conference, and IESA tournaments.

3. Attend all SMSC Athletic Director meetings.

4. Provide supervision of athletic contests when needed.

5. Help with interviewing candidates for coaching positions.

6. Share responsibility for managing and maintaining district athletic facilities to ensure the well-being of students, families and sta?.

7.  Participate in the scheduling process for all athletic contests.

8. Seek to attain and maintain good public relations with students, parents, officials, opposing coaches, and sta?.

9. Provide mentoring to the coaching staff.

10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Expected Student Contact Hours Beyond Teaching Contract: Varies as needed throughout the year Expected Weekend and Holiday Competitions/Performances/Events/Travel: Only as needed for any hosted tournaments Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, talk, demonstrate, and listen.
  • The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, such as athletic equipment.
