Small Engine Mechanic

Location: League City, TX
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $22–$24 per hour


Job Summary:

We are currently seeking an experienced Small Engine Mechanic to join our service team in League City, TX. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining lawn & garden, agricultural, turf, and other outdoor power equipment.


Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair small engines and outdoor power equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, fuel, and hydraulic systems.
  • Repair and maintain lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, tractors, utility equipment, and related machinery.
  • Perform engine tune-ups, oil changes, belt replacement, filter replacement, and other routine maintenance.
  • Inspect equipment to identify mechanical problems and determine necessary repairs.
  • Use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Read and interpret service manuals, technical documentation, and equipment schematics.
  • Remove, replace, and repair engine and equipment components.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and work performed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and service standards.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure equipment is repaired correctly and efficiently.
  • Stay current on equipment technology, products, and repair procedures.


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Small Engine Mechanic, Equipment Technician, Lawn Equipment Mechanic, or similar role.
  • Experience repairing gasoline-powered engines and outdoor power equipment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems.
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Agricultural, lawn & garden, turf, tractor, or construction equipment experience is a plus.
