Small Engine Mechanic

Location: Ottawa, IL
Pay: $18-$20/hr
Schedule: M-F 8a-4p (Hours may vary based on seasonal demand)

Job Overview:
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Small Engine Mechanic for a small shop in Ottawa, IL. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining lawn mowers and outdoor power equipment from a variety of manufacturers. The ideal candidate will have mechanical experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to assist with basic office and customer service duties when needed.

This role is expected to start as nearly full-time, with full-time hours anticipated during the busy season and potential year-round employment for candidates who bring both mechanical and administrative skills.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain lawn mowers and small engine equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and component replacement on various brands of outdoor power equipment.
