Slate Healthcare is seeking a travel Polysomnographer for a travel job in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Sleep Technologist – Sleep Clinic

Position: Sleep Technologist
Location: Pierremont & Bossier Clinics
Setting: Outpatient Sleep Clinic
Experience: Minimum 1 year required; more experience preferred
Travel Experience: Required – first-time travelers will not be accepted
Required Credentials

  • BLS
  • RPSGT or RRT-SDS
  • Louisiana State License
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for overnight sleep studies and explain the testing process.
  • Perform PAP mask fitting and provide support with CPAP/BiPAP therapy.
  • Establish and document baseline patient values, including:
    • Body position and movements
    • Oxyhemoglobin saturation
    • Respiratory rate
    • Heart rate
  • Properly apply and monitor electrodes, bands, thermistors, and other monitoring equipment.
  • Troubleshoot monitoring equipment and resolve technical issues during studies.
  • Provide basic patient care, including assistance with ambulation when needed.
  • Answer patient questions and ensure they understand the testing procedures.
  • Full scoring of studies is not required.
  • Must be comfortable working independently, particularly when patient census is low.
Schedule
  • Shift: 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
  • Patients arrive at approximately 7:30 PM
  • Schedule alternates between 36 and 48 hours/week
  • Possible schedules include Thursday–Saturday or Monday–Thursday
  • Every other weekend rotation required
  • Clinic is closed Sunday nights.
  • No call required
  • No holiday requirement

  • Pediatric through geriatric patients
  • Infants and children under 6
  • Morbid obesity
  • Central and obstructive sleep apnea
  • Narcolepsy evaluations
  • Sleep-related movement disorders
  • Parasomnias and other sleep disorders
  • Patient ratio: 1:2
  • Infant/Pediatric patients under age 6: 1:1
Facility & Unit Details
  • Two locations: Pierremont and Bossier
  • Each clinic has 4 beds
  • Floating between the two clinics may be required.
  • Facility orientation: 2–3 days
  • Unit orientation: 1 shift
  • EMR: Meditech Expanse
  • Monitoring Equipment: Alice Sleepwear G3, transitioning to Nihon Kohden
  • Security available on site
  • Manager available by phone/text when working independently
  • Free parking
Dress Code
  • Scrubs: Pewter
  • T-shirts must be gray, white, or black with the WK monogram
  • Jackets must be gray or black
  • Badges must be worn above the waist and visible at all times.
