Job Title

Security Officer

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training.

Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Class C Georgia Driver's License, proof of vehicle insurance, and meet company policy regarding MVR requirements.

Must meet state requirements regarding a GBI and FBI criminal history record check which requires fingerprinting.

Must undergo and pass a drug screening and screening for Tuberculosis.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Patrol premises regularly as directed.

Serve as the Designated person of authority in the event of an emergency.

Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people on the property.

Remove trespassers from the area and seek assistance from SPD if needed.

Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions.

Respond to alarms by following the company's Emergency Disaster Preparedness plans and procedures.

Provide assistance to people in need.

Provide assistance with Monthly and Quarterly Fire drills.

Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences.

May be required to perform emergency duties which require physical exertion such as: standing or walking for an entire shift, climbing stairs, lifting, carrying up to 50lbs. and running.

Escort staff to and from vehicles during shift changes.

Check for Fire egress within all buildings on every shift.

Perform Exterior lighting check during each evening shift.

Check all exterior doors to be locked immediately following building curfews.

Test Emergency phone and two-way radio at the start of every shift.

Perform minor Maintenance tasks as required.

Performs other duties that may be necessary in the best interest of Annandale at Suwanee, Inc. to meet the personal service and care needs of the facility's residents.

  5. Knowledge of modern Fire panels, door alarm systems electronic access control, and CCTV camera systems.
  6. Crisis intervention.

  10. Ability to read, write and speak English.
  11. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  12. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  13. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  14. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands; use fingers; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, and walk. Employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or crawl. Employee is required to lift up to 25 pounds and/or move up to 75 pounds (with assistance). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to transport (drive) and assist Villagers in and out of vehicles. Employee is required to perform CPR/First Aid.
