Assists the head teacher in teaching and supervising all assigned students along with any other duties requested by the administrators.
The Grenada High School is seeking a highly motivated Senior Naval Science Instructor who is knowledgeable in all aspects of Navy JROTC. Navy certification is required; start date will be at the earliest 01 OCT 2020. Grenada High School is well-established unit, since 1993. We are an award-winning unit, earning Most Improved Unit 2017, Distinguished Unit 2019 and Unit Achievement 2017 and 2018. The unit is very active in the community and throughout north Mississippi and has a strong reputation. This person will work with a strong, experienced NSI and a very motivated Unit staff. A relatively small unit, we averaged 110 cadets per year, but we are involved in competitive drill, color guard, marksmanship, orienteering, academic, and physical fitness events, as well as leadership academies, Sea Perch, orientation trips, and other community service activities throughout the year. Grenada, MS, is a small, rural town community with Grenada Lake for fishing, sailing, etc. This position requires a significant amount of time supervising extracurricular activities after school, weekends, and overnight travel in support of various competitive teams, community service events, and unit orientation trips. This is currently a 12-month contract at Navy minimums. Great support from the principal, superintendent, school board, colleagues, and entire community.
