Job description

About Us:
We’re a fast-growing, privately held insurance company on a path to becoming a leading U.S. retail platform. We believe every client and customer relationship holds the potential to become something great, and the same is true for our people.

As we continue to expand our distribution, service, and digital capabilities, technology plays a critical role in enabling growth and delivering exceptional experiences for our partners, producers, and customers. If building scalable solutions, modernizing business processes, and creating meaningful impact through technology excites you, this role offers the opportunity to help shape the future of our Salesforce ecosystem.

About the Role:
We're looking for a Salesforce Developer responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting Salesforce solutions that enable our distribution, operations, and service teams to work more effectively.

This role serves as a key technical contributor within our Salesforce environment and will be responsible for developing custom applications, integrations, automations, and user experiences that support strategic business objectives. The Salesforce Developer will partner closely with business stakeholders, Salesforce Administrators, Product Owners, and Technology teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions across the organization.

What You’ll Do:

Salesforce Platform Development

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable Salesforce solutions utilizing Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and platform automation tools
  • Develop and maintain custom applications, business logic, triggers, batch processes, and asynchronous processing solutions while adhering to Salesforce best practices and governor limits
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, development standards, and solution designs
  • Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions to ensure long-term platform scalability and maintainability
CRM Solution Delivery
  • Build and enhance Salesforce capabilities supporting producer management, wholesaler workflows, territory management, pipeline visibility, and sales activity tracking
  • Develop user-focused solutions that improve operational efficiency, data quality, adoption, and reporting capabilities
  • Support enhancements to security models, role hierarchies, sharing rules, and permission structures to ensure appropriate access controls
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and deliver effective solutions
Systems Integration & Automation
  • Design, develop, and maintain REST and SOAP API integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems
  • Configure and support Connected Apps, Named Credentials, OAuth authentication, and related integration technologies
  • Develop scalable automation solutions that streamline business processes and improve operational effectiveness
  • Ensure integrations are reliable, secure, and aligned with enterprise technology standards
Release Management & Platform Governance
  • Support application lifecycle management using Salesforce DX, source control platforms, and CI/CD deployment processes
  • Coordinate releases, deployments, testing activities, and environment management across multiple Salesforce environments
  • Maintain code quality standards, testing practices, and deployment controls to support a stable production environment
  • Assist with platform governance, documentation, technical debt management, and change management processes
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner closely with Distribution, Operations, Compliance, Data & Analytics, and Technology teams to support business initiatives
  • Collaborate with Salesforce Administrators to determine the appropriate balance between declarative configuration and custom development
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to team members and stakeholders
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and help identify opportunities to optimize business processes through technology
Operational & Risk Awareness
  • Maintain awareness of security, compliance, regulatory, and data governance requirements within a highly regulated environment
  • Support the protection of sensitive customer, producer, and business information through secure development practices
  • Partner with Compliance, Information Security, and business leaders to ensure solutions align with organizational standards and requirements
  • Ensure technical documentation, processes, and solutions meet audit and governance expectations

What You’ll Bring:

  • 8+ years of Salesforce development experience, including Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC) development
  • Strong experience building and supporting Salesforce applications in enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated experience developing REST and SOAP API integrations with internal and external systems
  • Experience designing scalable solutions within Salesforce's security and data model framework
  • Strong knowledge of SOQL, SOSL, Salesforce Flows, and platform automation capabilities
  • Experience working within Agile development teams and managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Experience supporting business-critical applications in a regulated industry such as insurance, financial services, healthcare, or banking preferred

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Apex development including triggers, batch processing, asynchronous processing, and custom business logic
  • Strong expertise in Lightning Web Components (LWC)
  • Experience with Salesforce DX (SFDX), Git-based version control, and CI/CD deployment tools
  • Knowledge of Salesforce security architecture, permission sets, sharing rules, and field-level security
  • Experience with REST APIs, SOAP APIs, OAuth 2.0 authentication, Connected Apps, and Named Credentials
  • Proficiency in Salesforce reporting, dashboards, and CRM Analytics concepts
  • Experience with Platform Events, Change Data Capture, and event-driven architecture preferred
  • Salesforce Platform Developer certification preferred; Platform Developer II certification a plus

Core Competencies

  • Technical Excellence: Delivers high-quality, scalable, and maintainable Salesforce solutions
  • Solution Design: Translates complex business requirements into practical technical solutions
  • Problem Solving & Judgment: Identifies root causes and develops effective, sustainable solutions
  • Execution & Accountability: Takes ownership from design through deployment and support
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Builds strong partnerships across business and technology teams
  • Communication: Clearly communicates technical concepts, priorities, and recommendations
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identifies opportunities to optimize processes, systems, and platform performance
  • Business Acumen: Understands how technology solutions support operational and strategic business goals

What We Offer:

  • A collaborative, inclusive environment that values authenticity, accountability, and partnership
  • The opportunity to join the company at an exciting stage of growth, where colleagues are empowered to build what’s next
  • A competitive variable compensation package with a base range of $155,000-$175,000 annually
  • A competitive benefits package including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; an HSA and 401(k) company match; paid time off; and employer-paid life and disability insurance
  • Austin, TX preferred location, relocation available; Remote/hybrid work arrangement will be considered
