Position Summary: The Driver Coordinator manages the day-to-day scheduling, dispatch, and support of Red Rock Transportation's driver workforce. Serving as the primary link between drivers, dispatch, and operations leadership, the role ensures routes are covered, deliveries are completed safely and on time, and drivers operate in compliance with company policy and applicable federal and California transportation and labor regulations. The position exists to keep fleet operations running efficiently, safely, and in line with customer and regulatory requirements.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and dispatch drivers to daily routes and assignments, adjusting in real time to changing operational needs, traffic, and customer requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers on schedules, route changes, delays, and day-to-day operational issues.
  • Monitor driver hours of service and ensure compliance with FMCSA and California hours-of-service rules, including required meal and rest breaks.
  • Maintain accurate records of driver assignments, mileage, deliveries, and time and attendance.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure timely, accurate pickups and deliveries.
  • Track delivery status and proactively communicate delays or exceptions to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support driver onboarding and keep driver qualification files, licenses, and certifications current.
  • Troubleshoot vehicle, route, and delivery issues, escalating to leadership as needed.
  • Enforce safety policies and support incident reporting, documentation, and follow-up.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in transportation, logistics, dispatch, or fleet coordination.
  • Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and California hours-of-service and meal/rest break requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with dispatch/routing software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as operational needs require.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field.
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), fleet management software, or electronic logging device (ELD) platforms.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Familiarity with California-specific transportation and wage-and-hour compliance.
  • Prior experience coordinating a driver workforce in a high-volume delivery operation.
