Description

SAIC is seeking a Lead Software Developer located at the Redstone Arsenal in Alabama to support the Sensors Test, Analysis, Requirements, and Simulations (STARS) products branch to develop advanced tools that support warfighter training and exercises in a models and simulation environment. The candidate will lead the software development team in the implementation of radar features, interfaces, and algorithms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in C++ or modern object oriented coding. As a Lead Software Developer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high quality software products to the end customers.


Job Description:

  • Lead the OSM development effort
  • Design and maintain seamless interoperability with other M&S tools and functions
  • Oversee the implementation of radar effects modeling
  • Lead the software team in adopting DoD DevSecOps best practices, ensuring all code meets rigorous cybersecurity standards for deployment in operational military environments.
  • Contribute to a team of software engineers and radar systems analysts in translating complex physics and engineering models into scalable, performant software code.

Qualifications

Required Education

Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in full-lifecycle software engineering.
  • Strong programming expertise in modern languages utilized for defense modeling and UI (C++, Python).


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience developing software within the DoD Modeling and Simulation (M&S) enterprise.
  • Direct experience with phased-array radar systems.
  • Familiarity with threat models.
  • Knowledge of radar detection theory, Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) tracking logic, and Scattering Center Radar Cross Section (RCS) models.
  • Previous experience supporting rapid prototyping and Warfighter Improvement Process (WIP) requirements.

Required Clearance:

  • Must have an Active Secret clearance.
  • Must be a current US Citizen.
