Job description

Manufacturing Maintenance Position

Dover Chemical Corporation, Hammond Works site- 3000 Sheffield Ave Hammond, IN, is looking for experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanics to join our team. Must have a solid work history and be flexible to work 8 hour rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

These maintenance positions are responsible for maintaining and improving various pieces of manufacturing equipment, vessels and piping. Dover manufactures chemical additives shipped in drums, sacks, RR cars, and tank cars for the plastics, rubber, drilling, and metalworking for both domestic and international customers.

  • Manufacturing maintenance experience is a must.
  • $35.85/hour to start, $39.91 after “Mechanical Training Program” completion
  • Annual incremental raises per labor agreement.
  • 5+ years proven industrial maintenance experience is preferred.
  • High school graduate required, technical school education preferred. Chemical industry experience preferred.
  • Proficiency reading drawings, manuals, measuring/installing pipe, pumps, valves, meters, gear boxes, and general equipment installation, repair or replacement.
  • Must have analytical skills, proven ability to trouble shoot and multi-task in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 80 lb occasionally and 50 lb frequently.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
