Job description

Overview

As a civil lead for our HTS IL market (pay range $20 to $28 per hour), you will train and work alongside other field technicians to complete site prep and perform civil construction, steel fabrication and tower erecting activities for the fastest-growing telecommunications company in the Midwest. Every day, you will be responsible for preplanning, describing and performing the current scope of work, troubleshooting, and communicating with crews, the foreman, and the top of tower.

What We Need from You

To thrive in this role, you must be able to travel Monday through Friday, with some weekend work required. Frequent overtime and overnight travel should be expected. You will need to be comfortable working outside in all conditions, and you should have basic computer knowledge. Additionally, you should be able to:

  • Train new civil technicians to perform their scope of work.
  • Troubleshoot civil issues.
  • Accurately estimate civil material.
  • Pull in conductors and terminate with oversight.
  • Demonstrate full understanding of grounding standards and applications.
  • Demonstrate competent operation of equipment.
  • Layout concrete forms and direct building.
  • Pour concrete and finish.
  • Layout and install conduit.
  • Layout and install H-frame and mount components.
  • Complete time-sensitive/required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Fill in for the foreman when needed.

The following licenses and/or certifications are desired and may be completed "in house:"

  • A valid driver's license (required) and ability to qualify as a company driver.
  • Ability to drive a truck and trailer.
  • OHSA 10 (OHSA 30 preferred)
  • Ability to successfully complete all required pre-employment processes, including a background check, drug screen, and DOT inspection.
