Job description

Are you a Registered Nurse specializing in the OR looking to pick up extra shifts? Do you have an interest in premium eye care and providing high-quality patient care in a non-hospital surgical setting? If so then this is the place for you!


Fraser Valley Cataract and Laser Centre (FVCL) is a comprehensive ophthalmology practice and surgical facility located in Surrey, co-founded in 2013 by Dr. Gabriel Chu and Dr. Joseph King. As a state-of-the-art medical and surgical facility, we stay current in diagnostic and surgical procedures and continually endeavor to provide our patients with the highest quality of care. Our staff includes a nationally recognized team of specialized ophthalmologists who have vast clinical experience in a wide variety of eye surgical services.


Responsibilities:


  • Deliver appropriate patient care pre-operatively, intra-operatively and post-operatively
  • Follow ORNAC standards and act in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively as an integral member of an operating room team and effectively use appropriate communication channels to disseminate information
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, co-workers, physicians, and other health care personnel
  • Perform scrubbing and circulating duties


Qualifications:


  • Graduate of a recognized nursing program
  • Current BCCNP license and in good standing
  • Completion of a recognized advanced nursing specialty program in operating room nursing, or two years of recent, related experience in an acute care operating room environment
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Ideally, the candidate should have 2 years of ophthalmology experience although we will provide training.
  • Have perioperative certification
  • Current CPR level HCP (within last 2 years)


We operate on a variety of weekdays as well as on Saturdays.
