Welder Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in Jasper, TN. The ideal candidate will have experience with production, fabrication, or construction welding and the ability to produce high-quality welds while following blueprints, specifications, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, welding symbols, and engineering specifications.
- Set up and adjust welding equipment, including amperage, voltage, wire feed speed, and shielding gas settings.
- Prepare materials by cutting, fitting, cleaning, and deburring steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel surfaces.
- Perform welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions while maintaining quality welds.
- Inspect completed welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, or poor fusion.
- Maintain and clean welding equipment, including torches, cables, and wire feed assemblies.
- Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and proper PPE requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited welding program or formal apprenticeship preferred.
- 1-3+ years of verifiable welding, fabrication, or production welding experience preferred.
- Ability to use power tools such as grinders, chop saws, and plasma cutters.
- Experience using measuring tools including tape measures and calipers.
- Ability to safely operate or work around overhead cranes.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying temperature environments.
- Ability to regularly lift 50-75 lbs.
- Must be proficient in precision welding, including welding thin materials up to 1/16-inch thickness.
- Must be able to properly use PPE, including auto-darkening helmets, gloves, and respirators.
