Job Summary:

Grand Industrial is seeking a skilled Pipe Welder / Pipefitter to join our growing industrial construction and manufacturing teams. This position supports industrial maintenance, shutdowns, process piping installations, conveyor projects, and facility upgrades throughout Northern Indiana and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both pipe welding and pipefitting, with the ability to fabricate, install, maintain, and repair piping systems in industrial environments. Candidates should be comfortable performing TIG, Stick, and MIG welding, reading blueprints and piping diagrams, and working safely in fast-paced field environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, schematics, welding symbols, P&IDs, and technical drawings to determine pipe layout and installation requirements
  • Perform welding operations using TIG, SMAW (Stick), MIG, and FCAW welding processes
  • Complete high-quality welds in various positions with emphasis on G6 welding capabilities
  • Fit, fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems and components in accordance with project specifications and ASME standards
  • Install valves, flanges, supports, hangers, threaded pipe, stainless pipe, and related system components
  • Measure, cut, bevel, thread, bend, align, and prepare piping materials for installation and welding
  • Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, pipe threading machines, grinders, tube benders, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
  • Perform repairs, modifications, inspections, and maintenance on existing piping systems
  • Rig, move, and position piping materials and components safely on industrial jobsites
  • Inspect completed welds and installations to ensure quality, strength, and leak-free performance
  • Work alongside welders, millwrights, project managers, and construction crews to complete projects safely and efficiently
  • Follow AWS, ASME, OSHA, and company safety standards at all times

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of Pipe Welder / Pipefitter experience in industrial construction or manufacturing environments
  • Strong experience with TIG and Stick welding
  • Experience with MIG and FCAW welding preferred
  • Experience performing G6 pipe welding strongly preferred
  • Ability to pass weld tests as required
  • Strong understanding of pipe fitting, fabrication, and installation practices
  • Ability to read blueprints, piping diagrams, and welding symbols confidently
  • Knowledge of industrial piping systems, mechanical systems, and fabrication techniques
  • Familiarity with ASME codes and industry standards preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Requirements:

  • Must not be afraid of heights
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
  • Ability to lift, climb, kneel, and work in physically demanding industrial environments
