Job description

Practice Medicine the Way You Always Hoped You Would

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring an In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve pet families across Jacksonville, Cedar Hills, Avondale, East Arlington, Del Rio, Orange Park - Florida

No waiting room. No double-booked columns. No corporate production dashboard. Just you, a family who loves their pet, and the time to do it right.

We are a Privately Held, Family-Owned and Doctor Led Veterinary Practice — and we DO NOT USE NON-COMPETE CONTRACTS. Not a shortened one. Not a "reasonable radius" one. NONE! Unlike the national and private-equity-backed end-of-life networks, your career here is never held hostage by a contract clause. You are free to build your professional life on your own terms, and we would like to earn the right to be part of it.

Who Thrives Here

The veterinarians who love this work tend to be the ones who were always best at the hard conversations. If you've ever finished a euthanasia appointment and thought "that was the most meaningful thing I did all week , I wish I'd had another twenty minutes," you already understand the job.

Experienced doctors looking to step away from the pace of general or emergency practice, without stepping away from medicine, are exactly who we built this for. Doctors returning from a break, or building a schedule around family, are genuinely welcome.

At Heartstrings Pet Hospice, we believe end-of-life care is one of the most important gifts a veterinarian can provide. If you’re looking for a career where you can reconnect with why you became a veterinarian while being genuinely supported by your team, we would love to speak with you.
