While we are an established leader in automotive tech, our company thrives on innovation and agility, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in a competitive industry to keep our customers and our culture at the forefront.

What You’re Applying For:

Edmunds is seeking an adaptable Project Manager to support delivery for our software development teams. This is a full time position in a remote-first, hybrid work environment, based in Santa Monica, CA. You will be joining a close-knit Program Management team and reporting to our Director of Program Management to support our Product & Technology departments.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years delivering software projects of high quality, and have the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment where change is both expected and welcomed.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act independently as a project manager for 2-3 cross-functional software development teams
  • Support portfolio-level initiatives which may span multiple project teams, with oversight from senior program managers
  • Partner with technical and product leads to construct project timelines, conduct planning, and support execution using Agile principles for your projects
  • Facilitate key meetings for project teams (e.g. scrums, planning and retrospectives)
  • Ensure that blockers are resolved, and communication gaps are plugged quickly and efficiently for assigned initiatives
  • Build deep, trusting relationships with all project team members to drive individual team efficiencies
  • Collaborate with your team leads on your project teams to refine or establish processes(goals, responsibilities, communication channels, workflow) that set them up for success.
  • Act as a champion for your teams to improve process, morale, and productivity
  • Guide teams through changes in priorities and milestones at the direction of executive &team leadership for your projects
  • Collaborate with the Program Management team at large to support overall resource planning, accounting/capitalization activities, and organize department events
  • Demonstrate flexibility in assumed roles to support critical initiatives (Our Program Management team is a service organization, so assignments to your project teams may evolve over time depending on our organizational priorities)

You’ll Love This Job If:

  • You genuinely enjoy working with people and are motivated by helping others succeed
  • You embrace change and are excited by the new opportunities that present themselves each time you are asked to learn something new
  • You are willing and able to take ownership of tasks big or small, whatever it takes to help your teams get the job done
  • People compliment you on your ability to bring order to chaos, to get things done, and your amazing ability to get along with all kinds of people
  • You feel a deep sense of responsibility for making sure commitments are delivered accurately and on time

What You Need:

  • 3+ years project management experience successfully delivering software/web development projects at various stages of the development lifecycle
  • Hands-on experience working on teams using Agile scrum and Kanban software development methodologies with cross-functional teams of 5-10 people
  • Ability to quickly form strong relationships that enable you to lead through influence rather than formal authority in a matrix organization
  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills, with follow-through on decisions/action items
  • High comfort level learning concepts quickly, to effectively serve as a translator across technical and business roles
  • Working knowledge of collaboration tools such as Google Apps, Atlassian JIRA, and Slack
  • Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets for basic analysis
  • Ability to balance your workload across multiple, competing priorities and threads
  • Ability to break down projects into smaller, achievable tasks
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while using your resourcefulness to ask for help from the right people when you need it.
  • Ability to act as an accurate translator across business and technical functions.
  • Ability to navigate and adapt quickly to ambiguity and change

The compensation range for this position is $98,000 - $125,000 per year. The base pay will take into account internal equity as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
