Work Environment

This position is a full-time remote role, allowing for a flexible work schedule primarily focused from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. While the majority of your work will be conducted virtually via our telehealth platform, there may be occasional requirements for evening or weekend hours to accommodate client appointments and fulfillment of practice demands. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored treatment plans that address the unique needs and preferences of clients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create pre-crisis and crisis intervention strategies, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Utilize evidence-based screening tools to monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to enhance outcomes.
  • Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring that all records are updated and detailed.
  • Serve as an active participant in licensing and accreditation processes, contributing to our continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with local and state agencies, fostering a network of support for our clients.
  • Engage in professional development activities such as attending conferences, participating in workshops, and contributing to statewide committees focused on geriatric mental health.
  • Promote and embody the mission and values of Astera Behavioral Health within the community.
  • Assist the Clinic Director with additional responsibilities as required to fulfill the operational needs of the clinic.
Client Population / Patient Focus

You will primarily work with seniors dealing with mental health challenges related to aging, including grief, life transitions, and age-related concerns. Understanding the unique psychological and emotional needs of this demographic is essential in delivering effective therapy that resonates with their experiences.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
  • A minimum of 4 years of recent experience in geriatric counseling or mental health support.
Preferred Experience
  • Additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.
  • Experience utilizing telehealth platforms and remote counseling strategies.
  • Familiarity with community resources and support systems for older adults.
