Job description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A pharmacy in need of a Remote Pharmacist in Charge who holds active, unrestricted licenses in both New Jersey and California is seeking a qualified professional to oversee operations and ensure regulatory compliance. This contract role offers part-time hours, approximately 24 per week, during standard weekday shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no on-call duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compliance with sterile and hazardous drug compounding regulations.
  • Support staff development, training, and performance management for a team including 7 Technicians, 4 Pharmacists, a Director of Pharmacy, and a Pharmacy Coordinator.
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, and DEA requirements.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Review and approve patient care plans, confirming therapy appropriateness, dosing accuracy, and medication compatibility.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active, unrestricted Pharmacist licenses in both New Jersey and California are required.
  • Previous management or Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) experience is preferred.
  • Experience with sterile medication verification is a strong plus but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work remotely and independently with strong organizational and leadership skills.
