Job description

Job Title: Medical Receptionist or Optometric Technician
Location: Huffman Family Eye Care (www.huffmaneye.com)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday - Friday. No weekends.

Overview:
We are hiring for one of two key roles in our optometry practice: Front Desk Coordinator or Optometric Technician. Candidates will be considered for the position that best fits their experience and strengths. This is a fast-paced, patient-focused office where efficiency, attention to detail, and strong people skills matter. Willing to train.

Position 1: Medical Receptionist

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients
  • Schedule appointments and manage daily flow
  • Verify insurance and collect copays
  • Answer phones and handle patient inquiries
  • Keep the front office organized and running efficiently

Position 2: Optometric Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-testing (visual acuity, autorefractor, tonometry, imaging)
  • Prepare patients for the doctor and document in EHR
  • Assist during exams as needed
  • Educate patients on treatment plans and products
  • Maintain exam rooms and equipment
