Grounds Maintenance Laborer
Job Description
Cape Fox Endeavor (CFE) is seeking dependable and motivated Grounds Maintenance Laborers to join our team in support of a federal government client. This role provides grounds maintenance, landscaping, snow and ice removal, seasonal operations, exterior upkeep, and general labor support under the supervision of the ORF-DFOM Grounds Maintenance Supervisor.
The total hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $18.77 per hour.
The above rate represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition, for eligible positions we offer a variety of benefits including specified holidays, paid leave, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, as well as a 401K with company match. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.
Core Duties:
  • Maintain grounds of industrial, commercial, or public property, including mowing grass with walking-type or riding mowers; trimming hedges; edging around walks, flowerbeds, and wells; and pruning shrubs and trees.
  • Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs; water lawns and shrubs using hoses or sprinkler systems; and support the authorized application of fertilizer or insecticide as directed.
  • Pick up and remove leaves, paper, litter, and other debris from exterior areas.
  • Remove snow and ice from walks, driveways, roads, and parking lots using shovels, snow blowers, or snowplows; spread salt on walkways and other areas.
  • Repair and paint fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings.
  • Assist with repairs to roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment.
  • Clean comfort stations, offices, workshop areas, and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping, and polishing as directed.
  • Safely operate hand tools, powered equipment, and authorized vehicles or equipment.
  • Complete assigned tasks under the supervision of the ORF-DFOM Grounds Maintenance Supervisor and support overtime requirements when directed.

Job Requirements
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Grounds maintenance experience, including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, planting, irrigation support, debris removal, and general grounds upkeep.
  • Ability to safely perform snow and ice removal operations using hand and powered equipment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work and work a standard eight-hour day.
  • Valid Driver's License if operating Government or contractor vehicles or equipment.
  • Ability to work overtime when directed by the ORF-DFOM Grounds Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
  • Highly Desired Qualifications:
  • Prior experience maintaining industrial, commercial, or public grounds.
  • Experience operating riding mowers, snow blowers, snowplows, and salting equipment.
  • Experience supporting minor exterior repairs, painting, and facility upkeep.
