Our dedicated trucks operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing stable, year-round employment with guaranteed hours and consistent pay. Schedule

18:00 PM – 6:00 AM Straight night shift 60-hour - 48-hour rotational schedule

  • Days off rotate as follows:
  • Tuesday & Wednesday off one week
  • Tuesday & Wednesday & Thursday the next week Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays Guaranteed 12-hour paid shifts Work on an on-call basis during your scheduled shift and be ready to respond when dispatched by the railroad

What You'll Do

This is not typical trucking. As a Locomotive Fueling Driver, you'll operate a specialized fuel truck to safely fuel locomotives for Class I Railroads. Approximately 90–95% of the job is performed outside the truck, making this a hands-on position.

Responsibilities

include:

  • Climbing in and out of your truck or locomotive steps multiple times per shift
  • Safely fuel locomotives using specialized fueling equipment
  • Stick fuel tanks and monitor fuel levels
  • Pull hoses and operate fuel nozzles
  • Work safely around active rail equipment
  • Complete required inspections and documentation
  • Follow all company, railroad, DOT, and safety procedures
  • Be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions Because rail operations run 24/7, dispatches can occur at any time during your shift. You'll be paid for the entire 12-hour shift—including breaks, lunch, and wait time—regardless of the number of dispatches received.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Hazmat Endorsement
  • Tanker Endorsement
  • Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Med Card)
  • FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse compliant
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • No DUI/DWI convictions within the past three (3) years
  • Ability to pass company, customer, railroad, and government background checks
  • Moderate computer skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong commitment to safety and reliability
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb, bend, kneel, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely work around active locomotives
