Summary/Objective
Magellan International School (MIS) is seeking a dynamic, creative, and highly motivated individual to join our Marketing amp; Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about storytelling, digital media, and community engagement in a Preschool to High School setting.
This position reports to the Director of Marketing amp; Communications. This role is designed for someone eager to grow professionally while contributing meaningfully to the school’s outreach and brand. The role is approximately 50% focused on social media and content creation, with the remaining time spent supporting website updates, internal communications, and special projects.
Essential Functions
Social Media amp; Content Creation (50%)
  • Create engaging, visually compelling content (heavy focus video and photography) for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
  • Regularly post and manage content across social media channels to promote school culture, events, and achievements.
  • Interact with students, faculty, and parents to generate authentic, community-driven content.
  • Monitor and share platform analytics from social platforms to help shape content strategy.
  • Assist in managing and mentoring a student-led social media club.
  • Ensure all digital content aligns with brand standards and reflects the school's commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive communication.
Website amp; Communications Support (50%)
  • Maintain and update the school website with fresh visuals and relevant content.
  • Collaborate on email newsletters and internal communications.
  • Ensure content aligns with SEO best practices and enhances visibility online.
  • Support special projects and school events with marketing and communications needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media or related field
  • 1–2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or digital media (internships count)
  • Link your portfolio and/or samples of your work showcasing your digital media experience
  • Familiarity with reporting tools and metrics to assess content performance on social media
  • Proficient with tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable, but not required

  • Highly organized, creative, and comfortable in an environment with multiple shifting priorities

Salary and Benefits

Work Environment
This role operates in a dynamic school environment, requiring a blend of stationary office work and active on-site event coverage. It involves the use of standard office equipment as well as specialized media gear. It requires prolonged sitting during post-production, standing, bending, or stooping for extended periods to capture photography and video. Must be able to lift or carry up to 15 lbs of media equipment. Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for special events.
Travel
Travel between campuses will be expected. Some out-of-area travel may be expected, but is not common.
