Weekend Python Data Analysts often face challenges such as limited time to access stakeholders or full datasets, since many team members may not be available outside standard business hours. To manage these challenges, it’s important to communicate needs and data access requirements ahead of time, and to document findings thoroughly for seamless handovers. Being self-sufficient with Python tools and data wrangling is critical, as you may need to troubleshoot issues independently. Proactively setting clear goals for each shift can also help maximize productivity during weekend hours.

Location: Remote - Eastern or Central Time Zone. While the posting lists specific cities, candidates based anywhere in the Eastern or Central Time Zone are encouraged to apply.

About the Role

The Senior Analyst, Procurement Data & Systems plays a foundational role in building Fairfield's modern Procurement function. This role transforms procurement data into insights that drive smarter sourcing, supplier, and investment decisions while helping shape the systems and tools that will support procurement at scale. This is a foundational role in a Procurement function being built from the ground up. The person in this seat will shape how Procurement operates analytically, technologically, and operationally - building structure, visibility, and automation capability where none currently exists. It is designed for someone who thrives in greenfield environments and finds genuine satisfaction in creating order from complexity.

Growth and Career Path

The Procurement function at Fairfield is designed to scale deliberately over the next 18-36 months. This role is the foundation of what will become a Procurement Center of Excellence - covering spend analytics, supplier management, systems, and AI-enabled operations. As the function grows, high performers in this role will have the opportunity to take on expanded scope and potential leadership responsibility. The path forward will be determined by performance, demonstrated impact, and organizational need.

What You'll Do

Below is a snapshot of what this role is all about. While there is more to it, this is the core focus.

Analytics & Spend Visibility

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards providing clear procurement insights.
  • Consolidate spend data from multiple systems into a single trusted view.
  • Deliver analyses that support sourcing decisions and executive reporting.

Data Governance & Systems

  • Manage and govern supplier and item master data.
  • Standardize GL mappings and procurement taxonomies.
  • Partner with BI and IT teams to improve data quality and integrations.

Automation & Technology

  • Design and deploy workflow automations to reduce manual effort.
  • Support AI-enabled intake and demand routing solutions.
  • Assist with P2P/eProcurement platform evaluation planning.

Reporting & Strategic Support

  • Produce recurring procurement reports with minimal manual effort.
  • Support category strategies with spend and supplier performance insights.
  • Maintain contract tracking and renewal alerts.

Why You'll Love Fairfield

We're all about creating communities that people are proud to call home. Being a part of Fairfield means more than a rewarding career with personal growth. It's a partnership, working alongside colleagues in an open-dialogue environment that encourages growth and the sharing of ideas. We know that our associates are a key ingredient to our success, and we're proud to reflect that in our culture.

  • Driven by Vision: We are a vertically integrated operator and investment manager in the multifamily sector with in-house development, construction, acquisition, and property and asset management services.
  • Career Growth & Learning: Fairfield values new ideas at every level and offers training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Culture of Collaboration: A professional, supportive environment focused on meaningful impact.
  • A Company that Cares: Competitive compensation, benefits, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and volunteer time off (VTO).

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-6 years of experience in procurement analytics, supply chain operations, or a related data-intensive role.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency - pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling, and data cleansing at scale.
  • Hands-on Power BI experience - data modeling, DAX development, and dashboard design for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working alongside or embedding with a centralized BI or data team, translating business requirements into structured data requests.
  • Experience with ERP or procurement systems such as Yardi, Procore, Sage, Nexus, or equivalent P2P/eProcurement platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience building or automating workflows using Power Automate, Python scripting, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with master data concepts - supplier master, item master, taxonomy design, and data governance practices.
  • Exposure to AI-powered procurement tools, including contract intelligence, spend classification, intake automation, or supplier risk monitoring.
  • Experience supporting or contributing to the development of AI agents or automation workflows, including prompt design, workflow logic, or output validation.
  • Strong analytical thinking - ability to frame business problems, structure data approaches, and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly self-directed - comfortable operating without a predefined playbook and building structure where none exists.
