12+ months Contract
Candidates MUST be local to Chicago, IL and be comfortable going onsite 2-3 times a month.

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will...
  • Gain a deep understanding of various data sources by collecting descriptive statistics, data types, and understanding the context of values in disparate data sets
  • Perform data quality assessment and understand risks of assumptions made about the data
  • Validate alignment of data within scope of business rules and requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and challenges and ensure data quality standards are met
  • Validate data mappings with an understanding of downstream business needs to ensure that requirements can be met given available data
  • Utilize various tools such as SQL, Python, or BI applications to profile current and anticipated data in systems of record
  • Collaborate with developers, providing clarifications and addressing inquiries to help ensure software deliveries meet required business functionality
Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree
  • 5+ years of proven experience working with data sets, gathering requirements, writing test documentation and procedures, and tracking errors:
    • Proficiency in data analysis tool and languages (e.g. SQL, Python) and writing/developing SQL queries
    • Knowledge of data/information workflows, data ingestion and ETL/ELT processes
    • Architectural Patterns: Data Warehousing, Medallion Architecture, Microservices Architecture, Event-based Architecture
    • Outstanding skills with MS Excel, and other standard office applications
    • Strong data modeling and lineage background
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong cognitive ability especially with respect to understanding, documenting, and describing complex technical subjects
  • Strong interpersonal skills and broad business and technical knowledge
Bonus Skills
  • Cloud experience with data engineering resources (Databricks, SQL Server)
