THE JOB:
It is the primary responsibility of the Scenic Projects Artist to produce props, sets, vignettes, signs and room decor using foam, wood, paint, vinyl, fabric and other materials.
THE STARTING RATE: $22.00 / hour
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
  • Use design direction and specifications to fabricate décor treatments for room, ceiling, entry, stage and walls
  • Use appropriate techniques and tools to paint, cut, sew, glue and assemble props to produce well-developed, safe, quality decor
  • Properly pack for transport, unpack and check goods against orders and handle inventory to protect against damage
  • Ensure that tools are maintained and MREP studio is left in a clean and orderly condition
  • Stay current in design trends, production techniques and vendor products and share/train with teams to inspire creativity
  • Lead crews in-studio or on installation and tear downs on selected events
  • Participate in event installation/tear down and loading/unloading of vehicles as needed
  • Accurately read and complete all required paperwork
  • Create a SHOW Service work environment promoting creativity, collaboration, teamwork, recognition, mutual respect
  • Actively promote MREP within the company and the events industry

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • 1+ Years of prior relevant experience in set and prop construction, theatre, fabric and/or events.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays required
