Job Title: Production Associate

Job Description

The Production Associate completes large parts assembly activities within an assigned work cell, consistently meeting production goals while maintaining high product quality and safe work practices. This role follows standard work instructions, uses a variety of hand tools and material handling equipment, and supports continuous improvement efforts across the department.

Responsibilities

• Complete required large parts assembly activities for the assigned work cell while maintaining product quality and safety.
• Meet and maintain daily production rates and goals as established by the business.
• Read, understand, and follow standard work instructions accurately.
• Use all required tools and equipment safely and correctly in the assigned work area.
• Keep supervisory staff informed of all cell activity, including quality issues, parts supply concerns, and safety matters within the scope of responsibility.
• Complete all required cell activities and documentation for the assigned work cell as requested by the supervisor.
• Attend all required training sessions to stay current with procedures, safety practices, and process updates.
• Adhere to safety procedures at all times and follow plant safety policies.
• Identify and report quality and safety concerns through the appropriate channels for the assigned cell.
• Participate in required continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
• Actively participate in department projects, tasks, and objectives, including continuous improvement initiatives.
• Keep the workstation clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards at all times.
• Maintain the highest ethical standards in all work activities.
• Adhere to all required company policies.
• Perform other job duties as assigned to support production and operational needs.

Essential Skills

• Experience with mechanical assembly and working with large parts.
• Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively in a production environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in English comprehension and expression, both verbal and written.
• Ability to read and follow standard work instructions accurately.
• Capability to meet and maintain daily production rates and goals.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis.
• Ability to stand, push, pull, bend, twist, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to work in weather extremes, including very hot conditions.
• Ability and willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Reliability in working all scheduled hours and overtime as mandated by the business.
• Commitment to following plant safety policies and procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with using Outlook and Excel for basic communication and documentation.
• Experience working with pick tickets and receiving processes.
• Experience handling freight in a production or warehouse environment.
• Experience operating a forklift or similar material handling equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality in assembly work.
• Willingness to participate in continuous improvement and process enhancement activities.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, onsite role. The work takes place in a plant environment that can be very hot in the summer and may involve exposure to weather extremes. The role requires frequent standing, lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, climbing, and the use of hand tools and material handling equipment such as forklifts. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and must be worn at all times as directed by safety policies. The work area is expected to remain clean, organized, and free of hazards to support safe and efficient operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SMITHFIELD, NC.

The pay range for this position is $16.25 - $20.75/hr.
