Testing Center Proctor

Location: Cambridge, MA 02138

Duration: 3 Months Contract


Candidates must confirm they have NO scheduled vacation plans during assignment. In addition to job description the expectation is they will cover their position, and step in where necessary for team coverage during the day.

The FAS Registrar's Office is running a testing center pilot. We are seeking qualified candidates interested in serving as a seasonal full-time testing center proctor. Proctors are responsible for observing students taking examinations and maintaining the security and integrity of the examination process.


Exam Proctor Responsibilities

  • Maintains the security of all exam materials during exams.
  • Communicates examination instructions and accommodations (if needed) to students in a clear and professional manner.
  • Collects and accounts for all exam materials.
  • Monitors students throughout exams to ensure a secure testing environment and to deter academic dishonesty.
  • Circulate quietly in hallways every 5-10 minutes during exams to monitor student conduct.
  • Remain in a testing room to monitor student conduct.
  • Enforce time limits & maintain integrity of exam.
  • Help prepare exam packets.
  • Help with student check-in and check-out including wiping down exam tables during and at the end of the day.
  • Performs other testing center tasks as assigned.


Hours: Mon-Fri 9AM-5PM (excluding university holidays)


Requirements/Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions and procedures and apply them.
  • Ability to circulate spaces and navigate buildings with multiple rooms.
