PRN Registered Nurse (RN)

Newport News, Virginia

$33.00 - $66.00/Hourly Actual pay is determined by program, work commitment and business needs

Riverside Health is currently hiring for a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Lifelong Health Float Pool team! This position will work at least 8 shifts per 4-week schedule, with at least 2 of these shifts being on weekends. This role will work between two Riverside Lifelong Health facilities on the Middle Peninsula. This role offers flexibility and pay rates starting at $46.00 per hour!

Overview Works under the direction of the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing, as applicable. Assesses, plans, implements, and executes delivery of resident care and directs all activities in order to provide quality service to assure positive resident outcomes. Maintains close contact with residents, families and staff while coordinating nursing services with all other disciplines at multiple facilities.

What you will do

  • Assigns duties to professional and non-professional staff according to education, training, policy and resident need. Engages team members for optimal performance and addresses performance as needed to assure quality resident care is delivered.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates resident plans of care. Communicates plan of care to providers, residents, families and staff. Identifies changes in condition with proper documentation following the Interact process. Demonstrates consistent follow through for positive resident outcomes. Utilizes good judgment and specialized skills. Demonstrates the ability to manage a typical nursing unit.
  • Allows resident choices within limits of capability considering safety /dignity issues and follows policies and procedures of facility to include resident privacy and dignity.

Qualifications Experience

  • Less than 1 year 6 Months Long Term Care (LTC) Experience (Required)
  • 2 years LPN Experience in a Long Term Care (LTC) or Assisted Living (AL) Setting (Preferred)
  • 1 year RN Experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required)
