The ideal candidate is warm, service-oriented, highly organized, and naturally anticipatory. This individual should be equally comfortable directing household operations, managing and developing staff, assisting with events and meal service, and stepping in wherever needed.

Discretion, flexibility, and a genuine hospitality mindset are essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operation, organization, presentation, and readiness of the residence
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs and inspections to identify household needs, maintenance concerns, and areas requiring attention
  • Anticipate the principals' preferences and priorities and proactively ensure they are addressed
  • Maintain exceptional organization and presentation standards throughout the home
  • Manage household inventories and ensure supplies are consistently stocked
  • Coordinate closely with the family's administrative, transportation, culinary, facilities, and household teams
  • Assist with errands and other household or principal-related requests as needed
  • Support family arrivals and departures, including packing, unpacking, and household preparation

Staff Leadership

  • Provide day-to-day direction and leadership to the housekeeping team
  • Establish priorities and ensure the home consistently meets the family's standards for cleanliness, organization, and presentation
  • Conduct routine quality-control inspections throughout the residence
  • Coordinate staff schedules and adjust coverage based on the family's needs, entertaining schedule, and travel
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and development of household staff
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and service-oriented team environment

Event Support

  • Partner closely with culinary staff to ensure seamless daily meal service and entertaining
  • Assist with light meal preparation and service when culinary staff are unavailable
  • Help oversee household food and beverage inventories
  • Coordinate table settings, tablescapes, and dining areas for family meals and entertaining
  • Support private dinners, gatherings, and special events from planning through execution
  • Oversee household readiness, guest experience, vendor coordination, and service standards during events
  • Remain hands-on and available throughout events to ensure an exceptional experience for the principals and their guests

Travel Support

  • Travel domestically with the family periodically as needed
  • Coordinate with household and administrative teams to ensure seamless transitions between residences
  • Assist with preparing secondary residences for family arrivals and departures
  • Provide high-touch hospitality and principal support while traveling
  • Remain adaptable to changing schedules and travel requirements

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of recent experience in a similar role
  • Significant experience working within a private residence and supervising household staff
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant hospitality education preferred
  • Experience within UHNW private households
  • Strong event-planning and project-management capabilities
  • Technologically proficient and comfortable learning household management and smart-home systems
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional judgment, etiquette, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record
  • Warm, grounded, collaborative personality with a true service mentality
